Ranthambore National Park is located in the Sawai Madhopur district in the state of Rajasthan. It is found where the Aravali and Vindhyan mountain ranges meet, and this confluence has endowed it with rich biodiversity. The park covers an area of around 400 square kilometers and is rich in collections of exotic flora, fauna and birdlife. This nature reserve used to be the hunting ground of the Maharaja of Jaipur, which became a nature reserve in 1955 and was designated a national park in 1981. In 1973 the park joined the "Tiger Project" to maintain the number of tigers in the country.
Due to
the incredible wildlife and rugged topography, this nature reserve is a popular
destination for nature lovers and wildlife photographers. The park is open from

Ranthambhore
National Park is arguably the best place in the world to see wild tigers and
the only dry leaf tiger habitat in the world. It has a rich variety of plants
and animals with more than 40 types of mammals, 320 types of native birds and
migratory birds, 40 types of reptiles, 02 types of amphibians, 50 types of
butterflies and 300 types of plants.
Besides
tigers, the other predators in the Ranthambhore tiger reserve are rusty spotted
cats, leopards, caracals, and others. Some of the most spotted mammals in this
reserve are the blue bull (nilgai), wild boar, sambhar, chinkara (Indian
gazelle), spotted deer (chital), and wild buffalo.
